Natalie Portman was born some time back on June 9, 1981 Jerusalem, Israel. She was brought in Jewish family and had only child of Shelley Stevens who was considered to be an American homemaker. Her father, Avner Hershlag, was an Israeli doctor specializing in fertility and reproduction. She was an actress with dual American and Israeli citizenship. It is believed that her maternal ancestors were Jewish immigrants to the United States from Austria and Russia; and her mother’s family had altered their surname from Edelstein to Stevens. Her paternal linkage was Jews from Poland and Romania.
